Psychiatric Services
AFS offers psychiatric services through Bruce Miewald, MD and Edward Lynam, MD in several of our locations. These services include diagnostic evaluations, consultations, and medication management. Along with other local contracted physicians, Dr. Miewald and Dr. Lynam supervise our clinic services.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) provides intense in-home and community based interventions to assist clients to change behaviors and build life skills. PSR services are geared towards severely emotionally disturbed youth and adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Our PSR specialists have earned masters degrees in a variety of disciplines including social work, psychosocial rehabilitation, psychology, criminal justice, and early childhood development. All services are supervised by a qualified mental health professional.
Counseling Services
The AFS counseling team offers a variety of experience. We focus on individual, couples and family counseling. Our masters-level counselors and social workers are qualified in the states of Idaho and Nevada to offer counseling services. The areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol and drug issues
- Anxiety and stress
- Conflict resolution
- Couples therapy
- Anger and depression
- Domestic violence and sexual abuse
- Grief and loss
- Academic difficulties and/or ADHD
